Communion’s prayer, Sunday V after Trinity
Week from 17 to 22 July 2017
“God is the Lord”
*

Introduction: God is the Lord. He created the whole world by means of His word. For it is written: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made” Jn 1:1-3. He did this to display His name’s glory, but also to bring His grace to us humans, whom He created in His image (Gen 1: 26) and to whom He gave authority to rule over all His creatures (Gen 1:28). Following our fall into sin, He appeared to be our redeemer (Lk 1:68). He deserves to receive honor and glory as Lord. In this respect, He said: “A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, where is the honor due me? If I am a master, where is the respect due me?’ says the Lord Almighty” Mal 1:6a. Those practising it will enjoy the fulfillment of God’s word. In this connection, the Apostle Paul said: “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God” 2 Cor 1:20
