“Trust in the Word of God”
*
Introduction: Trust in the Word of God because He is faithful and trustworthy. At that time, God gave an assurance of blessing to his people Israel when they were discouraged because of a long captivity in Babylon. For they were suffering oppression and extreme poverty, which led them to think that they had been abandoned by God, their God. This exile, however, did not mean that God forsook them, rather that He disciplined them to make them walk uprightly in God’s path and to keep his covenant with them: “He will be their God and Israel will be His people”. For God puts his people to the test to train them to be true in their faith to Him, in order for them to live, for “the righteous person will live by his faithfulness” Hab 2:4. Blessed are those who believe in the Word of God, for it will be fulfilled unto them according to their faith. “For no word from God will ever fail” Lk 1:37.
