Prayer’s communion, Sunday VI before Easter Week from March 06 to March 11, 2017
“God’s people win over sin”
*

Introduction: The believer who has God as his Lord and God (Jn.20:28) overcomes sin, the source of death. For “the sting of death is sin” 1 Cor.15 :56. The foundation of the victory over sin given to His people, as well as the basis of their perfection, lies the holiness of God who dwells in them and through whom they live. From this Paul acquired a total freedom, and so he said, “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” Gal.2 :20. Accordingly, all those who desire to live and to overcome all evil must put on the holiness of God, as it is written, “Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh” Rom.13 :14. To this purpose the Word of God says, ”Be reconciled to God” 2 Co.5:20, and, “In your hearts revere Christ as Lord” 1 Pet.3:15. Indeed, the Lord said, “Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy” Lev.11.44. This being so, Jesus said, “Because I live, you also will live” Jn.14:19b.
