Communion’s prayer Sunday III after Easter
Week from 08 to 13 May 2017
“God, hope for the believers”

Introduction: God, hope for the believers, those who expect salvation and trust in His mercy. He allows Himself to be found by those who seek Him and let them find favor in his sight according to what is written: “anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him” Heb 11:6b. Many and various are the reasons that may cause people to be downcast in their life. However the Lord encourages them in all their struggle to put their trust in Him and to hope for his salvation, so they may speak like the prophet, saying: “Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light” Mi 7:8. For the hope for God’s salvation strengthens people’s faith, so that they can say: “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior” Hab 3:17-18. Our ancestors were visited by the Spirit of God when they professed: “Though others may not be able or willing to wait for God, Il will wait patiently for Him.” Those who believe in the Gospel have the hope in God established in them for everything, as it is written: “to them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory” Col 1:27. Therefore the Scripture gives us the order: “O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption” Ps 130:7.
