Store up true wealth

*

Introduction: ”Store up true wealth”: this theme implies that the nature of wealth that man may seek and to which his heart may be committed is diverse. what Jesus said in this respect is most true: ”For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” Mt 6 :21. Here everyone can choose the nature of wealth they want to seek and their heart is committed to. Not all of them are neverthleess equivalent to one another : some are enduring, others temporary ; some are permanent, others perishable ; some are life-giving, others death-giving. To some up, those that are lasting and constant and life-giving come from above, from God. For it is written: He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.” Jn.3:31. This means a differentiation. In this regard, Jesus said: “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” Mr.8:36. Furthermore, the Apostel John said: Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” James.1:16-17. The perfect gift is true wealth, it is all about having God and believing in Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Therefore, ”Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.” 1 Jn.2:15-17. What God wants from us is to believe in the One He has sent, for He who believes in the Son has everlasting life” Jn.3:36.
