Lutheran Church Malagasy Singing & Gospel Sunday XI following the Trinity 02-07 September 2019 « God justifies men »

Introduction: God justifies men so that they are not confused, because they are unjust sinners. Indeed, the unjust have no part in the kingdom of
God, and therefore can not enter or inherit it (Rev.22: 15). What are called « unjust » are all those who disobey the will of God, but do what is contrary
to that, namely their own desire, who walk according to the flesh, and do the will of the devil the enemy of God from the beginning (Gen.3: 5). Thus,
the Lord clearly traced the way of righteousness to men by saying, « Let the wicked forsake his way, and the man of iniquity his thoughts, let him
return to the Lord, and have mercy on him, to our God, who never tires of forgiving  » Es.55: 7. He declares: « What I desire is not that the wicked die,
but that he change his ways and live. » Ez.33: 11b. The fulfillment of the justification of sinful men takes place by their adoption by God as His
children, « Now, if we are children, we are also heirs: heirs of God, and coheirs of Christ » Ro.8: 17. And since we do not know and can not justify
ourselves, then He has given us His only begotten Son for our redemption, namely, Jesus Christ dead in our place, as it is written, « For all have sin
and are deprived of the glory of God, and they are freely justified by his grace, by means of the redemption that is in Jesus Christ  » Ro.3: 23-24.God
justifies sinners, in that He makes us righteous, delivered from condemnation, consequence of our sins, and forgiven for our transgressions. The mercy of God is truly miraculous, for « When we were still sinners, Christ died for us » (Rom.5: 8), by the fact that he redeemed us with his most precious holy blood (1 Pet. 19). This is how the Holy Scriptures declare: « There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus » Ro.8: 1. For Jesus « was delivered for our sins, and raised up for our justification » Ro.4: 25.

Monday 02: The grace of God justifies men.

Introduction: The grace of God is his mercy, which forgives the transgressions of the sinner. He accomplished this for us through the
work of redemption accomplished by Jesus, redeeming us with his blood for God (1 Pet. 1:19). The Apostle Paul said: « Who will
accuse the elect of God, it is God who justifies! » Ro.8 33. Indeed, it is written, « When we were still sinners, Christ died for us » Ro.5:1 It is the most immense grace that is.

Introduction: God is patient and compassionate in not responding immediately to the iniquities committed (Es.55: 7b), but loves and is
ready to forgive the sinner who recognizes his faults and repents. The words of John, « Apostle of the love of God, » are certain,
because he knew the heart of God closely: He said: « If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to us. to forgive, and to cleanse us
from all unrighteousness » (1 Jn 1: 9) Receive and live the forgiveness of God, « And sin no more  » (Jn 8:11).

« Abram trusted the LORD, who charged him to righteousness – Ge.15: 6 » Ro.4: 3.
Reading 1: Mt.9: 1-8. Reading 2: Ro.4: 1-8. Preaching 1 (as desired). Preaching 2: Ro.4: 1-3.
Introduction: God justifies the one who lives by faith. He says: « And my righteous will live by faith » Heb.10: 38a. It consists in
believing in the work of redemption that He has accomplished through Jesus Christ His Son. Therefore, « Believe in the Lord Jesus,
and you will be saved » Ac.16: 31a. Indeed, « He who believes in the Son has eternal life » Jn.3: 36.

Thursday 05: God justifies the one who does his will.

Reading 1: Ap.22: 10-13. Reading 2: 2 Sa.22: 21-29. Preaching 1 (as desired). Preaching 2: 2 Sa.22: 21.
Introduction: God surely approves those who do His will, walk in His way and obey His commandments. This is the sign of their love
for God. Jesus says: « If you love me, keep my commandments » (Jn.14: 15). God renders innocent those who do so, for « love is the
fulfillment of the law » (Rom. 13: 10), and makes it pleasing to them. It is not external attitudes, but the conviction of the heart. Paul
said, « For the love of Christ hastens us » 2 Co.5: 14a.

Friday 06: God calls sinners to justify them.
« For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners » Mt.9: 13.
Reading 1: 2 Pi.3: 8-10. Reading 2: Mt.9: 9-13. Preaching 1 (as desired). Preaching 2: Mt.9: 13.
Introduction: Jesus seeks and calls primarily sinners, because every soul is precious to God and He does not want it to be lost. In fact,
Jesus uses a parable to say: « What man of you, if he has a hundred sheep, and loses one, leave the ninety-nine others in the desert to
go after the one who is lost, until he finds it? When he finds it, he puts it with joy on his shoulders  » Lu.15: 4-5. Accept to be found by
the Lord to justify you.

Saturday 07: Jesus intercedes for sinners to justify them.
« And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous » 1 Jn.2: 1b.
Reading 1: Ro.8: 33-37. Reading 2: 1 Jn.2: 1- 6. Preaching 1 (as desired). Preaching 2: 1 Jn.2: 1-2.
Introduction: Since we do not know how to intercede for ourselves, then Jesus intercedes for us, the Lamb of God who takes away the
sin of the world (Jn.1: 30), and whose Father hears the pleas for us, for He is righteous and holy. Indeed, He is « The merciful and
faithful high priest in the service of God, to make atonement for the sins of the people » He.2: 17.
