The topic‟s meaning: God is faithful because He is righteous, being a God who does not betray his covenant nor change his word but fulfills it. He certainly does so because, according to the Scripture, He is a “God, who does not lie” (Tit.1:2). He is truly jealous of his righteousness, as described by Balaam when he refused Balak‟s proposal to curse Israel: “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” Num 23:19. As a result, He gives the guarantee that none of his words fall on the ground, saying, “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it” Is 55:10-11. Paul testified about the truthfulness and the faithfulness of the word of God to the Corinthians, saying, “But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not „Yes‟ and „No.‟ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy—was not „Yes‟ and „No,‟ but in him it has always been „Yes.‟ For no matter how many promises God has made, they are „Yes‟ in Christ. And so through him the „Amen‟ is spoken by us to the glory of God” 2 Cor 1:18-20. Surely God does not forget his words so He gave a sign to Jeremiah who said, “The word of the Lord came to me: „What do you see, Jeremiah?‟ „I see the branch of an almond tree,‟ I replied. The Lord said to me, „You have seen correctly, for I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled” Jer 1:11-12. It is both our responsibility, and in our interests, to believe his words, for “All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant” Ps 25:10. Paul confirmed this, saying, ”If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown himself” 2 Tim 2:13. Therefore we will say, “No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause” Ps 25:3.

So He utterly deserves to be trusted, and makes a covenant with those who trust Him, a covenant of trust. Those wo rely on Him and look to his salvation can claim: « God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever » Ps 73:26—He who reveals Himself and works through his Son Jesus Christ, the ‖Faithful and Righteous‖ Rev 19:11.

Introduction: The work of God is not made of man’s hand, but by his power and authority which are above all power and authorities (John 3: 31). In this respect, He says, « Yes, from ancient days I am He. No one can deliver out from my hand. When I act, who can reverse it? » Is 43: 13. For this reason He is working to bring his salvation and renewal for us sinful men (2 Cor 5: 17), who believe in Him, whom He adopts as children (John 1:12), and on whom He pours his everlasting blessing (Ps 21: 6).

It is then our duty to give Him thanks and to honor Him, saying, « How can I repay the Lord for all his goodness to me? » Ps 116:12; and to be merciful and forgive our neighbors in keeping with the Lord’s prayer, « Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors » Mt 6:12.

Introduction: The forgiveness of sin that God gives is a certainty. It remains unchanged, and as such, is trustworthy. Nothing can indeed thwart God’s redemption plan, in which He gave his Son Jesus Christ as the Lamb whose blood was shed to justify the sinners, so that they may inherit God’s kingdom (Rom.8: 17). For it is written, « If anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense- Jesus Christ, the Righteous One » 1 Joh 2: 1, who intercedes and pleads unceasingly for us (Rom 8: 34). Therefore, it is written, « Who will separate us from the love of Christ? » Rom 8: 35a.
